Workflow Diagnostic

I’m David McMillan, a forward deployed engineer. I spend five working days with your firm, three of them on site with your teams, anywhere in the UK and Europe. At the end you have a ranked map of your work, a summary for your directors, a technical note for your IT director and a clickable prototype of the top fix. It costs £4,800 (€5,500), fixed, with travel inside the price.

The week

Days 1 to 3, on site
I interview your staff about how the work moves today: what gets filed, chased, copied and reported by hand.
Days 4 and 5
I rank what I found into Wave 1, Wave 2 and Parked, write the summary for your directors and the technical note for IT, and build a clickable prototype of the top fix. You have all four at the end of day 5.

What you receive

The waves map
Your work, ranked and sorted into Wave 1, Wave 2 and Parked. You use it to decide what to build first, or whether to build at all.
A summary for directors
Plain English, for the people who sign off: what I found and what I would build first.
A technical note for IT
For your IT director: the exact access a Build would need, so they can approve it before anything is built.
A clickable prototype
The top fix as something your team can click through, so you can see it before you commit to a Build.

What I need from you

A sponsor
One person who owns the week on your side.
Your staff’s time
Three days of it, while I’m on site.
Access
Read access to the systems you name before the week starts.

After the week

If Wave 1 is worth building, the Embedded Build ships it into production in your tenant in six weeks. If the map says to do nothing, that is the answer. The map is yours either way.

Questions

Do you charge for travel?
No. I’m based in Lisbon and work UK hours, and travel to you anywhere in the UK and Europe is inside the fixed price.
How is the work contracted and invoiced?
The Diagnostic and each Build are fixed-price work with set deliverables, invoiced by BigBadBird. I don’t take roles inside IR35 or join another team as extra staff.
What access do you need?
Read access to the systems you name before the week starts. Your IT director gets a technical note with the exact access a Build would need, and everything a Build ships runs in your tenant.
What if the answer is to do nothing?
Then the map says so. You are not committed to a Build, and the map is yours either way.

Start with a call

The call takes 30 minutes. I ask how the work moves today, not which tools you use.
